Last summer, both Democrats and Republicans refused to compromise on Medicare prescription drug coverage. Bills for this critical coverage have again passed both the House and Senate.
Reps. Michaud and Allen both voted against the House bill – with good reason – and it fell far short of ensuring adequate coverage for all individuals. Now, with the difference between the two bills being ironed out in conference committee, is it too much to hope that a middle ground can be reached? We all hope so and that Reps. Michaud and Allen can vote for passage of a bill that meets the needs of older Mainers.
