BANGOR – A Bangor man was indicted Tuesday by the Penobscot County grand jury for allegedly stealing more than $1,000 worth of clothes and valuables last month from campers at the Pushaw Lake Campground in Orono.

Richard Levesque, 52, was indicted on two counts of burglary and two counts of theft. He was arrested on Thursday, Aug. 7, after he was spotted wearing women’s shorts that belonged to one of his alleged victims.

A couple at the campground reported that their camper had been cleaned out of a television, clothing, jewelry, fishing gear, makeup and hand tools, Orono police said at the time of Levesque’s arrest. A second victim also reported that items had been stolen from her camper.
