FARMINGTON – A 22-year-old man accused of attempted murder in the shooting of his mother has pleaded not guilty.
Joshua Osborne of Farmington was charged in early July with shooting his 47-year-old mother Jannette in a dispute over the family’s farm. The son wanted to own the farm, but it has since been sold.
At his arraignment Tuesday in Franklin County Superior Court, Osborne pleaded not guilty to charges of attempted murder, criminal solicitation of murder and elevated aggravated assault.
Each count is punishable by up to 20 years in prison.
Justice Joseph Jabar ordered Osborne held without bail until his trial, which is expected to begin early next year.
Osborne’s 26-year-old girlfriend, Donna Enman, is also charged with attempted murder in the case.
