Let President Bush read and learn about rebellious groups being tamed. I saw underground movements in several countries successfully carry out campaigns against the Nazis, who, despite torturous and inhumane reprisals, could never subdue the guerrilla movements that sometimes lasted four years.

Bush will bankrupt us trying to rehabilitate a nation that in itself is so divided and unstable that it should never have been on our “peacekeeping” agenda. Where are the weapons of mass destruction? We need to stay out of world business and focus on our jobless and elderly, and other domestic issues.
