JONESPORT – Sophomore Kinani Gatahage scored all six goals, four in the second half, to lead the Jonesport-Beals Royals to a 6-2 boys soccer victory over the Narraguagus Knights Wednesday afternoon.
Gatahage, an exchange student from Kenya, scored two goals unassisted and one off a penalty kick for the 1-0 winners. Picking up an assist apiece on the other three goals were Travis Weisberger, Peter Barton, and Adam Robinson. Abraham Beal made 11 saves on 14 shots.
Saben Rossi scored both goals for 0-3 Narraguagus with Cory Worcester and Jon Albee each notching an assist. Josh Look made 11 saves on 19 shots.
Dexter 2, Penobscot Valley 0
At Dexter, Sam Bowers made 12 saves on 21 shots to earn the shutout in goal for the Tigers.
Mike Martin and Brandon Woodman scored second-half goals for 2-1 Dexter, with Ben Lemieux and Luc Marquis credited with assists.
Josh Ireland made 18 saves on 27 shots for 0-2-1 Penobscot Valley.
MDI 1, George Stevens 0
At Blue Hill, Richard Hilliard scored from amid a scramble in the goal mouth with 48 seconds left in the second half to give Mount Desert Island the victory.
Dan Lyons earned the shutout in goal with nine saves on 15 shots for 2-0 MDI. Mark Ensworth and Collin Henry combined for four saves on 10 shots for 0-1-1 George Stevens.
Ellsworth 5, Sumner 0
At East Sullivan, Casey Locke scored two goals and Jay Duchaine made five saves in goal for Ellsworth.
Jensen Rich, A.J. Martin, and Sandne Aamaas also scored for the 1-0-1 Eagles, while Kris Tracy had an assist.
Mason Young made 24 saves for 1-1 Sumner, which was outshot 33-5 by Ellsworth.
Carrabec 2, Winthrop 1
At North Anson, Trey Gaw’s two goals propelled Carrabec to its first win.
John Chretien made 13 saves against 14 shots for the 1-1 winners.
Dan Lemieux scored the lone goal for the 1-1 Ramblers. Mike Gingros stopped 14 out of 16 shots.

Penquis 5, Central 4
At Corinth, Jordan Allen scored three times and Justin Allen twice as the Patriots nipped the Red Devils.
Jordan Allen assisted on Justin’s goals, and Justin did the same on all three of Jordan’s goals. Kevin Nason made 16 saves on 22 shots for 2-1 Penquis of Milo.
Joey Kane scored twice – on penalty kicks both times – to lead Central. Jimmy Conley and Josh Underhill added the other goals for 0-2 Central, and Charles Haney made 14 stops and 20 shots for the Red Devils.
Searsport 7, Bucksport 4
At Searsport, Josh McFarland and Drew Mercier each knocked in two goals to lead the Vikings to the win.
Ryan Shute, Matt Nickerson and Spencer Garton notched a goal each for 2-0 Searsport and Jake Manner blocked seven out of 21 shots.
Teddy Cook scored two goals and assisted on another for the 0-1 Golden Bucks. Robbie Pushard and Andrew Johnson added a goal each while Seth McKeen added an assist. Miles Bisher had 20 saves against 27 shots.
Easton 0, Limestone 0 (2OT)
At Limestone, the Bears and the Eagles played to a scoreless tie through 80 minutes of regulation and two five-minute overtime periods.
Easton’s Danny Warren made six saves on nine shots for the 5-2-2 Bears. Travis Peers stopped 12 of 24 shots for 0-4-1 Limestone.
So. Aroostook 3, Katahdin 3
At Sherman Station, Eduardo Crossa scored his third goal of the match with 47 seconds left in the second half to rally Southern Aroostook of Dyer Brook to the tie.
Travis Brooker assisted on the game-winner, while Evan McGary also earned an assist for the 2-4-1 Warriors. Patrick Willett scored twice and Alex McAvoy scored once for 0-2-1 Katahdin. Tom St. Pierre and Jake McNally had assists for the Cougars.
Burton Brayall made 12 saves on 15 shots for Katahdin. Jeff Boutilier made eight saves on 11 shots for Southern Aroostook.
Field hockey
John Bapst 2, Mattanawcook 0
At Lincoln, Erica Getchell tallied a goal plus an assist as the Crusaders of Bangor prevailed.
Ali Dunn added a goal and Ashley Freeman an assist for 2-1 John Bapst. Julia Sleeper turned away 11 out of 21 shots.
Ashley Emery and Colleen Cloran combined to stop five of 12 shots for the 1-1 Lynx.

Dexter 5, Central 0
At Dexter, Brittany Veazie tallied two goals and added an assist as the Tigers shut down the Red Devils.
Meagan Fogarty chipped in with two goals for the 3-0 defending Class C state champs. Vanessa Hartford added a goal. Nikki Chapman and Sarah Wyman each had two assists. Cindy Koscielny stopped five of eight shots.
Jenna Dauphinee made 16 saves on 26 shots for 1-2 Central of Corinth.

Belfast 2, Camden Hills 0
At Belfast, Bryna Harrington turned away all five shots she faced to earn the shutout in goal for the Lions.
Sam Ellis gave 2-0 Belfast a 1-0 lead with 9:15 left in the first half on an assist from Katie Nickerson. Nickerson added a goal with 6:30 left in the match on an Abi Maycock assist.
Beth Herron made 12 saves on 15 shots for 1-1 Camden Hills.

At Sherman Station, Mindy Watson had two goals and an assist to lead the Warriors of Dyer Brook to victory.
Kaylea Collier added a goal for Southern Aroostook, while Christine Lawler had an assist. Krystal McMoarn had two goals and K.C. Duffy-Stanley had two assists for Katahdin.
Audrey Charette and Erin Caswell combined to make 19 saves on 28 shots for 4-2-1 Southern Aroostook. Clarissa Gallagher made 10 saves on 24 shots for 2-2-1 Katahdin.
