BANGOR – David Richards scored all four goals as the Husson Braves defeated Lyndon State 4-2 in men’s soccer action Wednesday afternoon.
Richards tied the game in the first half, then he added three more in a 15-minute time frame early in the second half.
Shane Coffin recorded two assists for the 2-1 Braves, and Chris Calela and Ben Sobey posted one each. Goalkeepers James Friend and Matt Goodman combined for six saves on 15 shots.
For 1-2 Lyndon State of Lyndonville, Vt., John Hamilton and Rene Cusson scored and Robert Carey had an assist. Nick Rowe had 19 saves on 28 shots.
Southern Maine 3, St. Joseph’s 1
At Standish, Zach Rossignol assisted on the first goal and scored the second three minutes into the game to lead the Huskies.
Rossignol set up Andrew Budelman for the first goal and the same combination worked again to add a second-half goal.
Joe Stevens scored on a breakaway in the first half for St. Joe’s. USM outshot the Monks 9-4.
Colby 7, Thomas 0
At Waterville, the Mules scored all of their goals in the first half, cruising past in-city rival Thomas.
Ryan Boccuzzi notched three goals and an assist for 1-0 Colby. Chris MacFayden added two of his own with an assist, while Dan Ruiz and James Pilgrim added a goal each. Josh Kahane made two saves on three shots.
Ryan Conrad stopped four of 11 shots for the 0-3 Terriers.
Women’s soccer
Maine Maritime 4, Unity 0
At Castine, Jessie Taylor scored two goals and assisted on another as the Mariners downed the Rams.
Amy Asselin recorded three assists and a goal. Kristen Gaylord chipped in with a goal, and Meghan Marshall saved both Unity shots she faced.
Anne Carter stopped 18 of 45 shots for the Rams.
Field hockey
Colby 3, Husson 0
At the Husson College field in Bangor, Injoo Haa and Wendy Bonner posted a goal and an assist each to power the Mules past the Braves.
Adrienne Leclair scored the other goal, and Michaelyn Bortoloth had an assist for 2-0 Colby of Waterville. Molly Rice and Jess Laniewski combined for eight saves on 12 shots.
Jamie Giles and Shani Hollins combined to make seven saves on 22 shots for the 1-1 Braves.
