BANGOR – Create a scarecrow of recycled materials and you may win $100. Keep Bangor Beautiful in cooperation with the Maine Discovery Museum and the Bangor Public Library are sponsoring the first recycled Scarecrow Contest, Saturday, Nov. 8. Scarecrows must be constructed of recycled, recyclable and-or used materials.

BANGOR – Create a scarecrow of recycled materials and you may win $100. Keep Bangor Beautiful in cooperation with the Maine Discovery Museum and the Bangor Public Library are sponsoring the first recycled Scarecrow Contest, Saturday, Nov. 8. Scarecrows must be constructed of recycled, recyclable and-or used materials.

Six prizes of $100 will be awarded in six categories – individual 18 and younger, individual over 18, family, school or classroom, organization and business – for the best use of recycled materials and for the most creative scarecrow.

Scarecrows will be exhibited in businesses through out the city.

Applications are available at the Maine Discovery Museum or Bangor Public Library.
