BANGOR – The Maine Tourism Commission’s Natural Resources Committee and the Maine Office of Tourism will hold a series of public forums throughout the state to gather public response. One forum will be held Sept. 23 in Bangor.

In response to growing demands, and opportunities associated with the state’s natural resource base, the Maine Tourism Commission recently established a Natural Resources Committee.

The committee, consisting of members from the commission, representatives from the tourism industry, state agencies, nonprofit organizations and a number of independent stakeholders, will research and report on potential policy and programs concerning the use and protection of Maine’s natural resources.

Representatives of municipalities, chambers of commerce, businesses, landowners, nonprofit organizations, major tourism associations and the general public are encouraged to attend the forum.
