Tracy, Brown help Eagles blank Rams

ELLSWORTH – Kris Tracy recorded two goals as the Ellsworth boys soccer team shut down Bangor 3-0 Thursday in high school action.

Jensen Rich scored a goal for the 2-0-1 Eagles and Alex Lyons and Noah Jordan each had an assist. Noah Brown stopped three of seven attempts.

Jessefa Murphy made seven saves on 14 shots for the 1-2 Rams.

JV: Bangor 2-1

Highview Chr. 4, Islesboro 1

At Charleston, Dhiago Martinelli tallied two goals and an assist as the Knights topped the Eagles.

Lucas Soares added a goal and an assist for 2-0 Highview Christian. Anthony Kneeland also scored a goal, and Ricky Hughes contributed an assist. Devan Philbrick made 11 saves on 12 shots.

T.L. Tutor put in an assisted goal for 0-1 Islesboro. Buddy Bebb stopped 26 of 41 shots.

Hampden 4, Nokomis 0

At Newport, Trevor Campbell scored a goal and assisted another to help Hampden Academy to the win.

Keith Zanardi, Eric Kelmonson, and Martin Early each scored a goal for the Broncos. Billy Shannon and Alex Wiken both had an assist and Kenny Mayo made five saves on 10 shots for 2-1 Hampden.

Zach Wing stopped 13 of 25 shots for 0-3 Nokomis.

John Bapst 3, Hermon 1

At Bangor, Alex Means netted a goal and had an assist to help John Bapst of Bangor past Hermon.

Sean Snyder and Josh Jameson both scored a goal for the 2-0 Crusaders and Rick Hathaway made 16 saves on 17 attempts.

Wyatt Sabo scored on a Ryan Tarr assist in the second half for 0-1 Hermon. Corey Archer blocked 11 of 14 shots.

JV: John Bapst 2-1

Old Town 5, Orono 1

At Old Town, John Garrity’s two goals helped the Indians get past the Red Riots.

Tyson O’Keefe and Tim Niles also scored unassisted. Nick Noonan scored off a Matt Perkins assist and Matt Petrie had an assist on one of Garrity’s goals. Tyler Tracewski had five saves on nine shots for 3-0 Old Town.

Aloysha Klose scored on a penalty kick in the second half for 1-1 Orono. Mat Lint had 13 saves on 26 shots.

Field hockey

Camden Hills 3, Oak Hill 1

At Rockport, Suzanne England scored two goals and assisted another to lead the Windjammers past the Raiders of Sabattus.

Jodi Newcombe scored a goal and had two assists for 1-2 Camden Hills and Georgia Smith made three saves on four shots.

Jill Lizotte scored on a Julie Lizotte assist for 0-3 Oak Hill and Noel Hinkley blocked 12 of 15 attempts.

JV: Camden Hills 2-0

Stearns 1, Orono 0

At Millinocket, Holly Franck netted the game-winning goal on a penalty corner at 13:26 into the first half to give Stearns the victory.

Michelle Landry blocked all three shots that she faced for the 1-1 Minutemen.

Ana Blagojevic made 13 saves on 14 shots for 0-3 Orono.

JV: Stearns 8-1

Nokomis 4, Brewer 1

At Brewer, Sarah Bradstreet, Michelle Barden and Kelly Palmer all scored unassisted as the Warriors of Newport rolled.

Dana-Jo Gardner had a goal with an assist by Morgan Randlett. Kristen Gould saved three out of four shots for 1-1 Nokomis.

Jessica O’Connell scored for the 0-1 Witches with an assist from Vanessa Michaud. Sarah England had 11 saves on 15 shots.

JV: Nokomis 4-1

Girls soccer

George Stevens 1, Bucksport 0

At Bucksport, Hilary Thibodeau scored off a Sadie Beardsworth assist with 6:25 left in the game to give the Eagles of Blue Hill their first win over the Golden Bucks in six years.

Liz Tyler made six saves on eight shots for 2-0 George Stevens Academy.

Katie Hurd blocked two of three shots for 1-1 Bucksport.

Bangor 3, Ellsworth 1

At Bangor, Amanda Mooers scored the game’s first goal off a Hannah Whitney assist to power the Rams.

Jessica Tweedie scored with an assist from Erin Healey assist and Kelly White added an unassisted goal. Ilyse Angst blocked seven of eight shots for 2-0-1 Bangor.

Cassie Cloak netted a goal with an assist from Ashley Oleson in the second half for the 0-2 Eagles. Victoria Jones made 24 saves on 28 shots.

Freshman: Bangor 3, MDI 1

Hermon 1, John Bapst 0

At Hermon, Cassie White scored off a cross from Gillian Miller to lift the Hawks past the Crusaders.

Shannon Wiggin earned the shutout with 14 saves on 20 shots for 1-0 Hermon.

Ashley Pearson stopped one of three shots for 1-1 John Bapst of Bangor.

Foxcroft 5, Piscataquis 1

At Dover-Foxcroft, Lindsey Chase scored two goals to help lift the Ponies past the Pirates.

Erica Kaufman scored a goal and assisted another for Foxcroft. Sarah Anderson and Leslie Martin each netted a goal. Katie Walsh blocked five of eight attempts for 1-1-1 Foxcroft.

Heather Woodbury scored on a Charley Bradford assist with 27:11 left in the game for 0-2 Piscataquis of Guilford. Tasha Barley stopped 19 of 40 shots.

Penobscot Valley 5, Schenck 1

At Howland, Tiffany Brown had three goals to propel the Howlers to the victory.

Ashley Dawson scored twice with assists from Tiffany Brown and Randy Rackley. Amanda Hallett added an assist and Jen Plourde had five saves on eight shots for 3-0 Penobscot Valley.

Jessica Day had an unassisted goal for the 0-2 Wolverines of East Millinocket. Megan Carey saved 14 of 29 shots.

Bangor Christian 3, Central 0

At Bangor, Johannah Kutz made 11 saves on 14 shots as the Patriots shut out the Red Devils.

Jessica Dougherty, Adrianne Ricci, and Aimee Sargent each scored for 2-1 Bangor Christian. Brittany Jago added an assist.

Nicole Daniels made six saves on nine shots for 1-2 Central of Corinth.

Orono 1, Old Town 0

At Old Town, McHaelee Westhoven scored the game-winning goal on a direct kick with 14 minutes left to propel the Red Riots.

Marie Lint made seven saves on 13 shots for 1-0 Orono.

Jen Jones stopped three of eight shots for 0-3 Old Town.

JV: Old Town 2-1

Hampden 5, Nokomis 2

At Hampden, Kim Stephenson and Jo Ghiringehlli each scored twice as the Broncos rolled over the Warriors.

the 2-1 Broncos beat the 1-1-1 Warriors 5-2.

Lili Berube added another goal. Annaliese Lafayette had two assists. Stephenson contributed an assist, as did Jill Beal and Jessie Aylward. Becca Workman saved eight out of ten shots for 2-1 Hampden.

For 1-1-1 Nokomis of Newport, Kristina Gonzalez scored with an assist from Aimee Paradis. Teresa Cooper scored off a Delainie Farnham assist. Rozlyn Peterson had 16 saves on 23 shots.

JV: Hampden 9-0

Van Buren 1, Fort Kent 0

At Fort Kent, Megan Lajoie netted the game-winning goal with 30:41 left in the first half to lead Van Buren to their sixth win of the season.

Lisa Lavesseur made 11 saves on 15 shots for 6-0-3 Van Buren.

Mindy Morneault blocked 10 of 11 attempts for 2-3-1 Fort Kent.

Wisdom 2, Limestone 1

At St. Agatha, Christa Lizotte’s unassisted goal in the second half proved to be the game-winner as the Pioneers picked up a key win over the Eagles.

Lizotte assisted on a goal by Nicole St. Pierre earlier in the game. Kayla Daigle made 13 saves on 16 shots.

Jacinda St. Pierre scored for 4-4-1 Limestone/Maine School of Science and Mathematics about 20 seconds after Lizotte’s winner. Megan Pelletier assisted on the goal and Nikki Michaud made 25 saves on 30 shots.

Ashland 3, CAHS 3 (2OT)

At Mars Hill, Alisha Boyd scored the game-tying goal on a Stevi Fletcher assist with 22 minutes left in the second half for Central Aroostook.

Alisha Boyd netted all three goals for the Panthers as Ericah Cheney and Naomi Smith both had assists. Brittany Lundeen stopped 19 of 25 shots for 5-3-2 Central Aroostook.

Caitlin Sherman scored two goals for 3-1-1 Ashland. Beth Chamberlin added a goal and Ashlee Peters had an assist. Ashley Nemer made 15 saves on 24 attempts.
