UMaine remains unbeaten

ORONO – Goals by Katie Hodge and Annie Hamel gave the University of Maine women’s soccer team a 2-1 victory over Dartmouth Friday afternoon.

Tanya Adorno made three saves on 10 shots for 4-0 Maine.

Megan Wijas scored 1-2 Dartmouth’s goal. Anne Marbarger stopped seven of 13 shots.

UM-Farmington 5, UMPI 0

At Farmington, Erin Campbell netted two goals and assisted another to help lead the Beavers past the Owls.

Jodie Welch scored a goal and provided two assists for the University of Maine-Farmington. Julia Malek and Erin Findlan each scored a goal. Patty Boutin made two saves for the 1-0 Beavers.

Rachel Larlee stopped 10 shots for 0-2-1 UM-Presque Isle.

Men’s soccer

UM-Farmington 3, UMPI 2 (OT)

At Farmington, Zach Pettit’s overtime goal lifted the UMaine-Farmington Beavers by the UM-Presque Isle Owls.

Jeff Beck notched a goal and two assists for 1-1 UMF while Rob Cloutier added a goal. Noah Peet and Seabren Reaves combined to make two saves on seven shots.

Darren Belskis tallied both goals for 1-2 UMPI. Tim Dolly stopped eight of 15 shots.

Volleyball

UMaine now 6-3

The UMaine volleyball team upped its record to 6-3 with a 3-1 (30-20, 27-30, 30-20, 30-25) win over Chicago State at the Portland State Invitational Thursday night. Portland State defeated the Bears 28-30, 30-21, 27-30, 30-24, 15-11 on Friday.

On Thursday, Carmer Gabriel led the attack with 13 kills, 12 assists, and 12 digs for the Bears, and Leah Guidinger added 15 kills and eight digs.

On Friday, Guidinger notched 11 kills and 9 digs for UMaine, while Shannon Fotter had 10 kills and Carmen Gabriel 13 kills and 31 digs. Brooks Truong added 18 digs, Jody Connacher 12, and Shelly Seipp and Kaili Jordan 11 each.
