SABATTUS – Part of Route 126 was closed for several hours Friday morning following the discovery of an injured woman lying in the middle of the two-lane road.

Police believe Leslie Stasulis, 42, of Livermore Falls, was hit by a car near where she was found early Friday.

Stasulis was taken to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston with what is described as life-threatening injuries to the head, face and chest. Her family has requested that no information about her condition be released.

Police closed the road to investigate the accident, including taking measurements and photos of skid marks on the road and doing a reconstruction of the accident.

Stasulis is the co-owner of Leslie’s Place, a lounge on Lisbon Street in Lewiston.
