DOVER-FOXCROFT – A local man died Sunday afternoon after he lost control of his vehicle and hit a tree on Route 15.

It appeared that Harry “Miles” Taylor, 81, had a heart attack before losing control of his 1998 Chevrolet pickup truck, according to Dover-Foxcroft Police Chief Dennis Dyer. He said Taylor was alive after the accident but died later at Mayo Regional Hospital.

The accident occurred at 4 p.m. just past the intersection with Bear Hill Road.

The pickup truck received about $6,000 worth of damage, according to Dyer.

Dover-Foxcroft firefighters and the Piscataquis County Sheriff’s Department assisted Dover-Foxcroft Police Officer Ned Hood and Dyer at the scene.
