The University of Maine-Machias Clippers made a successful weekend trip to Aroostook County with men’s soccer wins of 2-0 and 3-1 over UM-Fort Kent and UM-Presque Isle, respectively.

The UMM Clippers are now 2-3-1.

At Fort Kent Saturday, Brett Howarth notched two goals to lead the Clippers and Pat Morgan made five saves to get the shutout.

Nick Thibodeau had three saves for the 1-2 Bengals.

At Presque Isle Sunday, Mamhoud Sowe tallied a goal plus an assist as the Clippers clipped the Owls.

Howarth and Mike Zeidler added goals and Matt Salyler and Evan Timusk assists for the winners. Morgan had six saves on eight shots.

Sebastian Itman scored off a Jamie Brewer pass for 1-3 UMPI and Tim Dolley stopped 13 of 17 shots.

Men’s soccer

Maine 1, Manhattan 0

At Orono Saturday, Chad Mongeon only had to make one save against six shots as the Bears blanked Manhattan.

Kevin Forgett scored the game’s only goal for 3-2 Maine.

Collin Leaver had 10 saves on 24 shots for 1-3 Manhattan.

Thomas 2, Maine Maritime 0

At Castine Saturday, Ryan Buttice and Dan Burdin each scored an unassisted goal to give the 1-2 Thomas Terriers the victory.

Ryan Conrad saved six of 17 shots for the Terriers of Waterville while his Maine Maritime Academy counterpart, Joshua Heath, saved four of 12 for the 0-2-1 Mariners.

Unity 7, Northern Maine CC 1

At Unity, six Ram players scored to help them improve to 4-0.

Zax Teletciak, Matt Belonick, Ryan Howes, Nick Branning, and C.J. Perry each scored a goal while Andy Brower added two. Tyler Ferguson and Jay Silva made six saves on seven shots.

Goalie Lou Pelletier saved 15 of 25 shots for 0-2 NMCC of Presque Isle.

Colby 3, Bates 0

At Waterville Saturday, Ryan Boccuzzi knocked in a penalty kick which proved to be the game-winner for the Mules.

Chris McGayden and James Pilgrim added a goal each for 2-0 Colby. Brian Davidson had six saves on 12 shots.

James Kenly stopped four out of 15 shots for the Bobcats of Lewiston.

Field hockey

UM- Farmington 2, St. Joe’s 0

At Farmington, Kristy Veazie drove in two goals to give 2-0 Farmington the win over St.Joe’s..

Veazie was assisted by Mary Kate Williams on one goal. Ashleigh Biette had four saves on five shots.

Jessica LaFlamme saved 12 out of 19 shots for the 1-3 Monks.

Maine 2, Quinnipiac 1 (OT)

At Orono, Rebecca Ouellet scored on a penalty shot to break a 1-1 tie and give the Bear’s the win.

Rachel Hilgar scored 4-1 Maine’s first goal with an assist by Kasey Spencer. Senior Jaye Lance made two saves.

The 1-4 Bobcat’s Amy Cunniff scored the first goal of the game, assisted by Megan DeCesaris. Goaltender Erin McKay made an amazing 20 saves.

Colby 4, Bates 1

At Waterville, Wendy Bonner led the 3-0 Mules with two goals and one assist.

Michaelyn Bortolotti had an assist and a goal off a penalty corner. Laurin Smith scored her first collegiate goal. Goalie Molly Rice had six saves.

Lori Jessup scored unassisted for the 1-1 Bobcats. Sarah Judice racked up 12 saves.

Women’s soccer

Maine Maritime 6, Thomas 1

At Castine Saturday, Jessie Taylor scored three goals and assisted on another as the Mariners rolled.

Amy Asselin knocked in two goals for 3-0 Maine Maritime and Ashley Brooker added another. Meghan Marshall had three saves on four shots.

Mary Pratt converted a penalty kick for the 1-1 Terriers. Jessie Craft blocked 16 out of 22 shots.

Harvard 3, Maine 0

At Cambridge, Mass Sunday, Allison Kaveney scored what proved to be the game-winner in the first half for the Crimson.

Amy Holt and Katie Shields combined to make nine saves for 1-3 Harvard.

Tanya Adorno had four saves for the 4-1 Black Bears.

UM-Machias 3, UM-Fort Kent 0

At Fort Kent Saturday, Angela Qualey scored two goals to lead the Clippers to victory.

Christine Rich notched a goal plus an assist for the 1-3-1 winners. Sara Ricker made eight saves.

Kara Jackson had seven saves for the 1-2 Bengals.

Colby 0, Bates 0

At Waterville, both teams posted shutouts as they played to a 0-0 overtime tie.

For 1-0-1 Colby, Elizabeth Riley saved 22 shots of 30.

Lynne Antinarelli had four stops out of eight shots for the 1-0-1 Bobcats.

NHTI 6, Unity 1

At Unity Sunday, Kate Lesiccka and Katie Stockton were among six NHTI players who scored in the win.

Jen LeBlance had five saves on six shots for 4-0 NHTI.

Colby White scored the 1-3 Rams’ lone goal. Anne Carter and Christine Blakesley combined to stop 36 out of 44 shots.
