BANGOR – Drivers can expect to encounter paving crews on several Penobscot County roadways during the next several weeks, according to the state Department of Transportation.

The work is a continuation of DOT’s annual summer maintenance paving program.

Areas where work is scheduled include the East Newport-Stetson Road, the Ridge Road in Newport, Elm Street (Route 2) in Newport, Route 69 in Plymouth and Detroit, and Route 143 in Dixmont, Etna and Stetson.

Work will not occur in all five areas at the same time.
