BANGOR – Freshman Danielle Billings of Hampden scored two goals to lead the Husson College Braves to a 4-1 women’s soccer victory over the Lyndon State College Hornets Tuesday.
Kristen Pelletier added a goal and an assist and Deidra Ham had two assists for the 2-3 Braves. Kerry Tuck had the other goal and Leah Drew saved all four shots she faced.
Jen Kirchoff scored for 2-3 Lyndon State and Lacey Smith made 16 saves on 28 shots.
Field hockey
Colby 1, Saint Joseph’s 0
At Waterville, junior All-American Wendy Bonner notched her fifth goal of the season with 17:17 left in the first half as Colby improved to 4-0.
Molly Rice and Jess Laniewski made one save apiece for the Mules while St. Joseph’s of Standish goalie Erin Ramondi rejected 15 shots.
New England Coll. 2, So. Maine 1
At Henniker, N.H., Jessica Hanson of Readfield scored two goals, including the game-winner 9:24 into overtime, as the Pilgrims edged the Huskies.
Hanson had tied the game with 12:05 left in regulation after Jen Mason gave Southern Maine of Gorham the lead with a goal off a Sarah Dolley assist.
Jess Superchi made 14 saves for the Huskies, while Cal Schmeltzle posted 10 for New England College.
Men’s soccer
Husson 4, Saint Joseph’s 2
At Standish on Monday, Kyle James had a goal and an assist to help lead Husson College past Saint Joseph’s College.
David Richard, Mike Hofman and Shane Coffin each netted a goal for the 3-2 Braves. Kilton Xhemaili and Tyler Hews each had an assist. Matt Goodman made six saves on 16 shots.
Joe Valente and Harrison Deah both scored unassisted goals for 1-3-1 St. Joseph’s College. Jeff Yeager made four saves on eight shots.
UM-Machias 1, UM-Farmington 0
At Farmington, Matt Salyer scored an unassisted goal six minutes into overtime to lead the University of Maine-Machias Clippers to a rare victory over the UMF Beavers.
Pat Morgan made two saves on five shots for the 4-3 Clippers.
Noah Peet made six saves on 15 shots for the 1-2 Beavers.
