Woodman, Kenney spark Dexter

DOVER-FOXCROFT – Brandon Woodman’s second-half header led Dexter to a 2-0 victory over Foxcroft Academy in boys soccer action Wednesday.

Jeremy Kenney added a goal and Aaron Woodman an assist for 4-1 Dexter. Sam Bowers made 11 saves on 13 shots.

Brad Bellemare had 19 saves against 21 shots for the 0-4 Ponies.

Highview Chr. 12, Chop Point 0

At Charleston, Lucas Soarez tallied three goals and Ricky Hughes two as the Knights rolled.

Devon Philbrick tallied a goal and two assists for the 4-0 winners, while Anthony Kneeland and Andrew Richard each had a goal plus an assist. Nate Richard, Thiago Martinelli, Chad Crooker, and Cameron Smith added a goal apiece. Philbrick and Aaron Waite combined to make three saves on four shots.

Jake Ferland rejected 26 out of 41 shots for 1-2 Chop Point of Woolwich.

Hermon 5, Brewer 0

At Hermon, Wyatt Sabo tallied two goals and an assist as Hermon rolled.

Jesse Keith, Adam Gould, and Scott Riendeau added a goal apiece for the 2-1 Hawks, and Corey Archer had two saves on five shots.

Dan Juilli had 15 saves against 24 shots for the 0-4 Witches.

JV: Brewer 3-1

Ellsworth 4, MDI 0

At Mount Desert, Kris Tracy recorded two goals as the Eagles blanked the Trojans.

Casey Lock and Demetrious Katsiaficas added a goal each for 3-0-1 Ellsworth. Noah Brown made two saves on five shots.

Dan Lynos had six saves against 16 shots for 2-2 MDI.

JV: Ellsworth 6-0

Belfast 4, MCI 0

At Belfast, Caleb Barnaby scored a pair of goals and Aaron Cross had three assists as Belfast improved to 3-1.

Chris Williams and John Boynton had the other goals and Collin Cunning made seven saves on nine shots.

Tristan Goewey made 12 saves on 22 shots for 1-3 Maine Central Institute of Pittsfield.

Field hockey

Foxcroft 3, Piscataquis 0

At Guilford, Rolinda Mitchell tallied two goals as the Ponies galloped past the Pirates.

Tamlyn Frederick added a goal and Harita Reddy an assist for Foxcroft. Ashley Smith stopped all seven shots she faced.

Amy Knowlton had one save on four shots for Piscataquis.

JV: Piscataquis 3-0

Central 3, John Bapst 1

At Bangor, Renee Trafton broke a 1-1 tie in the second half to lead the Red Devils by John Bapst.

Shawna Bell and Jenny Rollins added a goal apiece for 3-2 Central of Corinth. Jenna Dauphinee had seven saves on 20 shots.

Ali Dunn scored off a Ashley Freeman pass for the 4-2 Crusaders. Julia Sleeper turned away 17 of 37 shots.

JV: John Bapst 2-1

Dexter 5, Nokomis 0

At Dexter, Sarah Wyman knocked in a pair of goals as the Tigers clawed the Warriors.

Keriann Patterson and Brittany Veazie each had a goal plus an assist for Dexter. Megan Fogarty added a goal, and Nikki Chapman had an assist. Cindy Koscielny had one save on two shots.

Kristen Gould stopped 20 of 36 shots for Nokomis of Newport.

JV: Nokomis 3-0

Girls soccer

Bangor 3, Nokomis 0

At Bangor, Erin Healey had a goal and an assist and Caroline Larson and Kristin Bogan had the other goals as Bangor upped its record to 4-0-1.

Amanda Mooers and Jessie Roberts had assists, and Ilyse Angst made one save on four shots.

Rozlyn Peterson made 11 saves on 18 shots for 1-3-1 Nokomis of Newport.

JV: Bangor 6-1

Dexter 2, Schenck 1

At Dexter, Emily Whalen had a goal and an assist to lift the host Tigers to their first win of the year.

Whalen assisted Sabrina Cote for the only goal of the first half, then scored on an Angela Watson assist to give Dexter a 2-0 lead. Jessica Jarmark scored unassisted for Schenck.

Freshman goalie Lindsay Burton made nine saves on 10 shots for 1-3-1 Dexter. Megan Carey made 13 saves on 20 shots for 1-4 Schenck.

Hermon 2, Brewer 0

At Hermon, Shannon Dobbins saved all 11 shots she faced as the 2-0-1 Hawks shut out the Witches.

Kate McGown gave Dobbins all the support she needed when she scored with 8:59 remaining in the first half with an assist from Alisa Petrello.

Marrisa McLeod added an insurance goal late in the second half, assisted by Paige MacDonald.

For the 1-3 Witches, Katie Harris made 12 saves on 20 shots.

Penquis 4, Penobscot Valley 1

At Milo, Erin Beasley scored a first-half goal and assisted on one by Kate Hamlin to lead the Patriots past the Howlers.

Sam Ellis added a goal in the second half, and Kristin Burch was credited with one on an own goal. Nicole Nason stopped 16 of 25 shots for 3-1 Penquis.

Ashley Dawson scored for 3-2 Penobscot Valley of Howland with an assist from Amanda Hallett. Jen Plourde made 10 saves on 17 shots.

Greenville 8, Windham Chr. 1

At Greenville, eight different players scored as Greenville improved to 4-0-1.

Kristin Sutherland, Hannah Breton, Rica Breton, Lauren Dallam, Tasha Elsmore, Darla Larson, Beth Bartley, and Martha Richardson scored for Greenville, and the Breton sisters each had an assist, also.

Crystal Ferris and Sarah Hanson had assists, and Bartley and Hannah Breton combined for seven saves on eight shots.

Jess Taylor scored for 0-4 Windham Christian and Alyson Byron had the assist. Bree Reynolds made 23 saves on 36 shots.

George Stevens 2, Central 0

At Corinth, Bethany Roberts scored both goals for the Eagles.

Liz Tyler stopped all five shots she faced for George Stevens of Blue Hill.

Nicole Daniels had 15 saves against 17 shots for the Red Devils.

Narraguagus 4, DI-Stonington 2

At Deer Isle, Amanda Gagecrall knocked in a pair of goals to lead the Knights to the win.

Amanda Kenney and Erica Mann added a goal each for 3-0 Narraguagus of Harrington. Alicia Tenney made seven saves on nine shots.

Anna Lawson and Anna Boyce notched a goal apiece for the 0-4 Mariners. Regyn Lawry and Whitney Haskell had 17 saves against 21 shots between them.

Woodland 3, So. Aroostook 0

At Woodland, Alicia Vose had two goals and an assist as the host Dragons remained unbeaten.

Kaitlyn Leeman added a goal for Woodland, while Beth Covey and Caredwen Foley also had assists.

Lauren Troiani stopped all five shots she faced for 4-0 Woodland. Erin Caswell made 22 saves on 25 shots for 4-3-1 Southern Aroostook.
