Former basketball standout Vicki Mazerall of Howland will have her uniform No. 00 retired as part of Husson College’s Sports Hall of Fame induction ceremony to be held Saturday, as part of the school’s Homecoming festivities.

Also being inducted are basketball players Kristi Wildman Alley and Keith Ogden, baseball player Frank Peckham, softball player Crystal Hinton, and pro sports executive Thaxter Trafton.

In addition to the inductions, the 1993 women’s basketball team that included Mazerall and Wildman Alley will be honored for advancing to the NAIA national semifinals.

The ceremony will begin at 5 p.m. in the MacGregor Sports Hall of Fame Room in Newman Gymnasium.

After graduating from Calais High School, Hinton was a four-year softball starter at Husson. When she graduated, she held every school record for pitching: wins, innings pitched, shutouts, earned run average and strikeouts. She was a two-year captain, and a two-time most valuable player.

Trafton, a 1961 Husson graduate, is a former president of the NBA’s Cleveland Cavaliers, chief administrative officer of the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum, president and commissioner of the International Basketball league and executive director of the Arizona State Fair and Veteran’s Memorial Coliseum in Phoenix.
