AUGUSTA – A state Web site to answer questions about rules and regulations applying to businesses has been launched.

Gov. John Baldacci and Economic Development Commissioner Jack Cashman announced the new service Thursday in the State House.

The new Web site, www.maine.gov/businessanswers, will provide users with online assistance with starting up a business, applications and information business development resources. It also offers a One Stop Business License Center.

Cashman said his department hopes to soon improve the site to make it interactive, which would enable business owners to submit applications and payments online.
