A Bangor man reported Friday afternoon that his wallet was stolen Wednesday at the YMCA.

Bangor police Officer Dennis Lally reported that the man said he left the wallet in a duffel bag in a cubbyhole at the Bangor YMCA athletic center. He said he didn’t notice the wallet was missing until Thursday morning.

The wallet reportedly held the man’s driver’s license, Social Security card, birth certificate and $700 cash.

Bangor police arrested a man early Friday on a drunken driving charge.

Officer James Hassard reported that at about 1 a.m. he and Officer Al Woolley stopped a car in the parking lot of a nightclub on Harlow Street.

Hassard said the car was stopped after it pulled out of the lot with its headlights off, turned on Harlow Street and re-entered the lot.

Hassard said the driver, a Michael Marvel, had glassy, bloodshot eyes. Marvel reportedly admitted having two drinks, later identifying them as a screwdriver and a rum drink.

Hassard performed poorly on sobriety tests and was arrested. At the station, Hassard said, Marvel registered 0.08 percent blood-alcohol level, and was summoned for operating under the influence.

Brewer police summoned a Brooksville man early Friday on drug charges.

Officer Jeff Gotreau reported that just after midnight, he, along with Officers Roger Hershey and Tony Pinette, stopped a car on South Main Street for speeding. Gotreau said there were a number of people in the car, and the officers could smell alcohol and marijuana coming from inside.

A search produced two partially burnt marijuana cigarettes, or “roaches,” and a few small bags with marijuana flakes in them.

The driver, Carrol Dodge, 35, was summoned for possession of a usable amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
