The Maine Emergency Management Agency encourages those who wish to help the victims of Hurricane Isabel to contact an organization working in the area to make sure the funds, goods or services being offered are needed, according to a statement the agency issued Friday afternoon.

Mainers may find local contacts for the organizations helping hurricane victims at www.mainevoad.org, according to MEMA. Up to date information on voluntary agency response is available on www.disasternews.net or by contacting the local office of one of the relief agencies.
