UNITY – Andy Brower scored a goal and assisted two others to help lead the Unity College Rams to a 6-3 men’s soccer victory over the Eastern Maine Community College Golden Eagles Tuesday.

Dax Telepciak, Matt Belonick, Ryan Howes, C.J. Perry, and Brian McCallion each scored a goal for 5-2 Unity. Tyler Ferguson and Jay Silva combined to make two saves on six shots.

Daryl Watson netted all three of 1-3 EMCC’s goals and Andy Branton stopped 15 of 25 shots.

UM-Machias 7, MMA 1

At Machias, Brett Howerth scored five goals and assisted on another to lead the Clippers past Maine Maritime Academy of Castine.

Steve Hill added a goal and two assists and Jesse Wingnes tallied the other goal.

Mike Zeidler collected a pair of assists for UMM, and Bryce Hellstrom and Mamhoud Sowe had one each. Goalkeeper Pat Morgan made four saves on seven shots.

For the Mariners, John O’Neill scored unassisted and Steve Jensen made six saves on 35 shots.

Thomas 0, St. Joseph’s 0

At Waterville, Ryan Conrad stopped 10 of 14 shots for 2-5-1 Thomas College.

Jeff Yeager made seven saves on 11 attempts for 1-5-2 Saint Joesph’s College of Standish.

Field hockey

Colby 2, UMF 1

At Waterville, junior All-American Wendy Bonner scored her eighth and ninth goals of the season as the Mules, ranked 19th in the country in Division III, improved to 6-0.

Kim Betz had an assist on Bonner’s first goal and Molly Rice finished with four saves on five shots.

Mary Sinclair scored for 3-1 UM-Farmington and Ashleigh Biette made 17 saves on 19 shots.

Women’s soccer

Colby 3, St. Joseph’s 0

At Waterville, freshman Laura Williamson’s fourth goal of the season, coming 34:49 into the game off a Kara McCabe pass, proved to be the game-winner as Colby improved to 3-1-1.

Liz Morbeck and Meg Cordner scored insurance goals in the second half.

Liza Benson finished with two saves for Colby and Shana Howard stopped 15 shots for St. Joseph’s.
