FARMINGTON – Deidre Ham scored with 58 seconds to play in the second overtime to lift the Husson College Braves to a 1-0 women’s soccer victory over the University of Maine-Farmington Beavers Wednesday.
Leah Drew made six saves for 4-3 Husson and Patty Boutin had eight for 3-2 UMaine-Farmington.
Men’s soccer
Harvard 3, Maine 0
At Boston, Matt Hoff notched a goal and an assist as the Crimson blanked the Bears.
Brian Charnock and Ladd Fritz added a goal apiece for 2-1-2 Harvard. Ryan Johnson had three saves on four shots.
Chad Mongeon stopped nine of 13 shots for 3-4-1 Maine.
Colby 6, U-New England 0
At Waterville, Bobby Abendroth and Chris Rogers each scored two goals as the Mules gave coach Mark Serdjenian his 200th career win.
Abendorth also had an assist for 3-0-1 Colby. Daniel Kiernan also chipped in with two goals plus an assist. Trevor McWilliams, Dan Ruiz, Ryan Boccuzzi and Donnie O’Callaghan also had assists. Brian Davidson and Josh Kahane combined to make two saves on three shots.
Steven Bishop had five saves against 22 shots for the Nor’Easters of Biddeford.
Field hockey
Southern Maine 6, Salem State 0
At Gorham, Deedra Boudreau knocked in a penalty stroke and added an assist as six different players scored for Southern Maine in the win.
Renee Heath, Kayla Vaughan, Ashley Woodcock, Rachel Nimon and Jen Mason had a goal each for the 5-2 Huskies while Sarah Dolley added an assist. Jessie Superchi stopped all six shots she faced.
Meaghan Oskirko had 28 saves on 34 shots for 0-5 Salem State (Mass.).
Merrimack 3, Saint Joseph’s 0
At North Andover, Mass., Kristen Belair scored one goal and assisted on another to lead Merrimack past the Monks of Standish.
Rebecca Cordeiro added a goal for the 4-3 Warriors and Sara Joyce made five saves eight shots.
For 1-7 Saint Joseph’s, Jessica Laflamme made seven saves on eight shots.
