BANGOR – NH Mensa, which serves Maine and New Hampshire, will conduct test sessions at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 25, at Bangor Public Library.
“NH Mensa will join local Mensa groups across the country in administering the Mensa Admissions Test,” said John Bauman, NH Mensa president. “This is a great opportunity for people in Maine to find out if they qualify for Mensa.”
The Mensa Admissions Test comprises two tests featuring questions involving logic and deductive reasoning. A person who scores in the 98th percentile on one of the tests qualifies for membership.
Test takers must be age 14 or older and have a photo ID. The test fee is $30. Mensa also offers a battery of culture-fair, nonlanguage tests that are scheduled on an individual basis.
NH Mensa has 400 members in New Hampshire and Maine and is one of more than 130 local Mensa groups nationwide. Based in Arlington, Texas, American Mensa is open to anyone who scores in the top 2 percent on an accepted, standardized intelligence test.
