PRESQUE ISLE – Leah Joy scored an unassisted goal in the second overtime to lift the UMaine-Presque Isle Owls to a 3-2 women’s soccer victory over the UM-Fort Kent Bengals Saturday.

Monique Daniel and Marilee Waugh added goals and Amanda Clayton an assist for 2-4-1 UM-Presque Isle. Sam Greer faced 17 shots and saved 15.

Megan Forman scored both goals for 3-3 UM-Fort Kent. Jessica Gagnon dished out an assist and Kara Jackson had 16 saves on 19 shots.

R.I. College 3, So. Maine 2

At Providence, R.I., Saturday, Caitlin Gavin scored the second of her two goals at 81:41 of the second half.

Devin Edwards and Eva Hanson scored unassisted goals for 3-4-1 Southern Maine and Marcy Ansley stopped five out of 19 shots.

Middlebury 4, Colby 2

At Middlebury, Vt., Brittany Cronin racked up two goals plus an assist to lead Middlebury past Colby Saturday.

Mayo Fujii and Erin Pittenger added a goal each and Caity Abshere two assists for 4-1 Middlebury.

Laura Williamson and Amanda Walsh had goals for the 3-2-1 White Mules. Elizabeth Riley and Liza Benson made seven saves.

Bay Path 2, Maine Maritime 1

At Castine, Angie Harrison scored the game-winner in the second half to lift Bay Path.

Kristen Gabor scored off a Jessie Taylor assist for the 5-1 Mariners. Meghan Marshall stopped eight of 15 shots.

UM-Farmington 5, Thomas 0

At Waterville Saturday, Erin Campbell scored two goals and Jodie Welch dished out two assists as the Beavers rolled.

Welch added a goal and Julie Malek a goal and assist for 4-1 UM-Farmington. Meghan McCrum registered a goal and Billie Jo Putnam stopped the only shot she faced.

Jessie Craft and Shauna Lessard made 10 saves on 21 shots for the 2-5 Terriers.

UMM 1, Lyndon St. 1 (2OT)

At Machias Saturday, Erin O’Callahan scored for the 3-3-2 Clippers and Autumn Foley for the 3-3-3 Vermont visitors.

Sara Ricker had six saves for UM-Machias while Lindsay McGuire had 20 for Lyndon State.

St. Joseph’s 6, UM-Fort Kent 2

At Standish Sunday, Kelly Cyr recorded three goals to lead the Monks by the Bengals.

Kelly Sirois, Megan Cole-Karagory and Katie Sirois added a goal each for 2-7 St. Joseph’s. Jess Maurais, Michelle Crisp, Tiffany Merrill and Kerri Driscoll added assists. Shana Howard and Cheryl Northrup made five saves on 10 shots between them.

Megan Goff had two assists and Jess Gagnon and Amy Kelly notched a goal each for UM-Fort Kent. Kara Jackson blocked eight of 32 shots.

UMM 14, Coll. of St. Joe’s 0

At Machias Sunday, Christina Rich knocked in three goals to lead the Clippers.

Shelley Hayden notched a goal plus three assists for the 8-4 winners. Leila Schanck added a goal and assist, as did Raechelle Brooks. Meejin Moore, Sara Ricker, Tricia Farrell, Anna Jacob and Erin O’Callahan tallied a goal each. Ricker and Angela Qualey didn’t have to make any saves.

Melaine March made 22 saves for 3-5 College (Vt.) of St. Joseph.

Men’s soccer

UM-Machias 9, Lyndon St. 1

At Machias, Brett Howarth scored three first-half goals as the Clippers rolled on Saturday.

Howarth added two more goals in the second half and added three assists. Mike Zeilder chipped in with two goals and two assists. Pat Morgan made two saves on three shots for 7-4 UM-Machias.

Nick Rowe faced 27 shots and had 18 saves for 2-6 Lyndon (Vt.) State.

R.I. Coll. 6, So. Maine 1

At Gorham Saturday, Cory Lopes tallied four goals to lead the Anchormen.

Kyle Amaral saved six of 12 shots for the 6-3 visitors.

Troy Walz scored off a Zach Ansley pass for 2-4-2 Southern Maine and Kane DiBenedetto had four saves on 15 shots.

Thomas 2, MMA 1 (OT)

At Waterville Saturday, Ryan Buttice scored off a corner kick to give the Terriers the win.

Chris Inzerillo scored off a Tyler Colby pass for 3-5-1 Thomas and Ryan Conrad had six saves on 13 shots.

Chad McDuffie tallied a goal and Derek Keenan an assist for the 1-4-1 Mariners. Josh Heath stopped 10 out of 13 shots.

Middlebury 4, Colby 1

At Middlebury, Vt. Saturday, John Sales scored twice to give Middlebury the victory.

Ryan Boccuzzi converted a penalty kick for the 3-1-1 White Mules and Brian Davidson had six saves.

Endicott 2, St. Joseph’s 0

At Standish, after a scoreless first half the Gulls got on the board with a goal Daniel Duvernoy and assist by Josh Lewis.

The second goal was an own-goal, with the point given to Josh Golden.

UM-Machias 3, St. Joseph’s (Vt) 1

At Rutland Vt., Brett Howarth scored a goal and tallied and assist for the undefeated Clippers.

Matt Salyer and Mike Zeidler each added goals while Jorge Tassara recorded an assist. Pat Morgan made eight saves for 4-0 UMM.

Joe Scanlon scored the lone goal for 0-3 St. Joe’s and Tim LaPlante made 23 saves.

Field hockey

Becker 4, Husson 3

WORCESTER, Mass. – Sara Rose Knox scored the game-winning goal as host Becker College held off Husson 4-3 in a North Atlantic Conference field hockey match Sunday.

Kelli Ann McClintock scored twice for Becker, while Val Tartaha also scored for the Hawks.

Nicole Palmer scored twice for Husson, (3-3 overall, 2-2 in NAC play), while Sara McIntire scored once. Karole Ann Emery and Amy McDaniel had assists for the Braves.

Husson goalies Shani Hollins and Jamie Giles combined for 12 saves, while sweeper Jaime Ross added two defensive saves.

Husson 3, Elms 2

At Chicopee, Mass., on Saturday, Amy McDaniel scored an unassisted goal in overtime as the Braves rallied from a 2-0 deficit to earn the win.

McDaniel added an assist and Erin Brown and Karole Anne Emery put in goals for Husson. Shani Hollins and Jamie Giles combined to make four saves on seven shots.

Laura Guliman notched a goal plus an assist for 1-7 Elms.

Middlebury 3, Colby 2

At Middlebury, Vt., the Panthers outshot the White Mules 45-6 in the win on Saturday.

Ashley Lyddane, Abigail Lamb and Missy Krempa scored for the 5-0 winners. Wendy Bonner and Michaelyn Bortollotte scored for 6-1 Colby. Molly Rice had 36 saves against 45 shots.

Western N.E. 1, UMF 0

At Farmington Saturday, Megan Cloutier scored off a Stephanie Gildart pass to give the visitors the winning edge.

Jillian Brown had four saves for Western New England while Ashleigh Biette stopped six for UMaine-Farmington.
