DYER BROOK – Italian exchange student Edoardo Crotta scored a goal in each half Wednesday to lead the Southern Aroostook Warriors to a 3-1 high school soccer victory over Ashland.

Zac Montgomery contributed a goal and an assist for 6-5-1 Southern Aroostook, while Tom St. Pierre assisted on two goals. Jeff Boutilier made eight saves on 15 shots.

Jason Chamberlin scored an unassisted goal for 1-9-1 Ashland. Nathan Mantlow made 11 saves on 30 shots.

Machias 7, Jonesport-Beals 0

At Jonesport, Austin Roberts posted a goal and an assist to pace the well-balanced Bulldogs to victory over the Royals.

Kenneth Morse, Thomas Buck, Chris Correll, Zac McNally, Jamie McCarthy and Shawn Robbins scored one goal apiece for 8-0 Machias. Patrick McDonald provided two assists, while Cory Brooks and Ryan Murray added one each.

Marcus Frutchey made five saves on nine shots.

Abraham Beal came up with 13 saves on 22 shots for 2-5-1 Jonesport-Beals.

Narraguagus 4, Woodland 0

At Harrington, junior Cory Worcester scored four goals during a span of 26 minutes, 46 seconds in the first half, spearheading the Knights to victory over the Dragons.

Worcester scored on assists from Aaron Dublin and Jon Albee and booted two unassisted goals. Josh Look made four saves on four shots for 3-6 Woodland.

Craig Moody registered seven saves on 11 shots for 1-7 Woodland.

Belfast 4, Rockland 0

At Belfast, keeper Collin Cunning converted a penalty kick and stopped all three shots he faced as the Lions rolled.

Diego Olivares, Caleb Barnaby and Chris Williams added goals and Aaron Cross and Derek Kelly assists for 7-2 Belfast.

Ryan Down had 17 saves on 29 shots for the 3-6 Tigers.

Girls soccer

Ashland 5, So. Aroostook 3

At Dyer Brook, Caitlin Sherman scored two goals and Jessica Jacques chipped in with one goal and two assists to lead the Hornets past the Warriors.

Angela Belskis added a goal and an assist for the 7-2-2 winners and Beth Chamberlain had a goal. Ashley Nemer made 12 saves on 25 shots.

Kaylea Collier scored two goals for the 4-8-1 Warriors and Mindy Watson added a goal and two assists. Val Hersey recorded an assist and Audrey Charette made 16 saves on 24 shots.

MDI 4, Bucksport 0

At Bucksport, Lucy Shaw picked up a pair of goals as the Trojans blanked the Bucks.

Nora Miller and Tessa Jones added goals and Bekka Paine an assist for 3-5-1 Mount Desert Island. Jessica Norwood made five saves on eight shots.

Alice Andrews faced 14 shots and made nine saves for 4-4-1 Bucksport.

Searsport 3, Dexter 1

At Searsport, Nori Metzger, Abby Tripp and Brittani Frisbie each scored a goal to lead the Vikings to the win.

Mo Hall made two saves on five shots for Searsport.

Emily Whalen scored an unassisted goal for the Tigers. Lindsay Burton stopped 12 of 22 shots.

Winslow 5, Mount View 1

At Thorndike, Brittany Morin scored four goals to lead the Black Raiders past Mount View.

Brynne Davis added a goal for 9-1 Winslow. Marie McClaire had eight saves on 12 shots.

Holly Whitcomb scored off a pass from Violet Soisson assist for the 2-8 Mustangs. Meghan Behmeyer stopped nine of 26 shots.

Valley 5, Averill 0

At Bingham, Kristin Baker scored two goals to help lead the Cavaliers.

Whitney Strickland, Melanie Vicneire and Emma McAllister each added a goal for the 2-6-1 winners and Lera McCandless notched an assist. Loretta Fitzmaurice made three first-half saves and Vicneire made four in the second.

Kayla Beauleau made 18 saves for 0-7 Averill of Hinckley.

Dirigo 5, Carrabec 0

At North Anson, Brooke Weston racked up four goals and Kassi Putnam chipped in with a goal and assist as the Cougars of Dixfield rolled.

Jesica Blaisdell made two saves on six shots for 4-4 Dirigo.

Ashley Zikorus and Amy Campbell combined to make eight saves on 23 shots.
