Burrill, Witt take 94 victories

HERMON – Richard Burrill of Sullivan and Jason Witt of Bangor won the season finales in the Little Enduro division during Sunday’s stock car racing action at Speedway 95.

Burrill passed Darren Durrell of Newburgh with five laps left to take the first feature race. Durrell wound up second and Sam Whitmore of Corinth took third, followed by Andy McTague of Frankfort and Glenburn’s Tim Munson.

In the second Little Enduro race, Witt led most of the way on his way to the checkers. Mike Thayer of Hudson debuted with a second-place finish and Fred Ashmore Jr. of Ellsworth took third. Joey Doyon of Winterport and Bangor’s Bob Seger Jr. placed fourth and fifth, respectively.

Winterport Dragway

At Winterport, David Kecki of Lincoln came up a bit short and finished second in the pro eliminator race at Winterport Dragway Sunday afternoon, but he still won the pro eliminator season title.

Kecki wound up with 453 points and finished 34 ahead of Brian Curtis from Wellington, who defeated Kecki in Sunday’s race.

Race semifinalist Roberta Chubbock of Argyle Township was third in the race and finished sixth in the series.

Joe Paluga of Bar Harbor won both the pro street/street eliminator final and pro street eliminator races Sunday.
