Andover College chief to lead NEASC

PORTLAND – The president of Andover College has been tapped to lead the New England Association of Schools and Colleges.

Steven K. Ingram, who took over his post at Andover College in July, will become president of the nation’s oldest regional college accrediting organization when he is formally installed this December.

The New England Association of Schools and Colleges serves more than 1,800 public and independent schools, colleges and universities in New England, as well as 110 American-international schools around the globe.

The 500-student Andover College itself faces reaccreditation next year when the NEASC reclassifies the school from a career and technical school into the higher-education category.

Andover awards associate degrees and certificates in fields including accounting, early childhood education, and travel and tourism.
