Bonair Pella donations

Bonair Enterprises, a Pella Windows franchise, donated truckloads of windows and doors to two local Bangor charities, The Salvation Army and Habitat for Humanity. The Salvation Army held its annual harvest auction Oct. 3-4, where the windows and doors were auctioned. Proceeds will help fund continuing services to the less fortunate.

Mary MacKay, project director for the Salvation Army, said, “The Salvation Army depends upon companies like Bonair Pella. With their support we’re able to deliver high quality social services to Bangor area residents.”

Habitat for Humanity of Greater Bangor sold the Pella windows and doors at its annual yard sale and netted $2,200.

Monique Gautreau of Habitat for Humanity, said, “The Bangor area has a larger-than-average underserved population and with all that this entails, it is a challenge for Habitat for Humanity of Greater Bangor to build more than one house per year. The proceeds from the Bonair Pella donation is a significant amount and will be used towards purchasing materials for the 2004 housing project.”

Habitat for Humanity is accepting donations and applications for housing, and may be reached at 942-8977.

“Bonair Pella Windows and Doors is committed to building strong relationships with its customers, communities, and associates,” said Jesse Stevens, president of Bonair Pella.

“We’re proud to provide Pella windows and doors to The Salvation Army and Habitat for Humanity and we’re eager to support other nonprofit organizations throughout the Bangor region that are committed to enhancing community quality of life.”
