UMaine volleyball to conduct two clinics in South Portland

ORONO – The University of Maine volleyball team will conduct clinics for children and adults Sunday in South Portland. The clinic will be held at the South Portland Community Center on 21 Nelson Road.

The youth clinic for middle school and high school athletes will run 3-5 p.m. and the adult clinic 6-8 p.m. Both will be conducted by UMaine team coaches and players.

“It is always great to bring our level of volleyball to this part of the state as the interest in volleyball continues to grow,” head coach Sue Medley said in a press release.

Field hockey signing in

The UMaine field hockey team will hold an autograph session for fans after its game against Boston University at Morse Field in Orono Saturday afternoon.

Admission to the 2 p.m. game is free and the first 250 youths through the gate will be given team photos.

On Sunday, fans attending Maine’s noon game against Vermont are encouraged to bring banners. Members of the team will vote on the best banner and the winner will have an opportunity to return to the campus for a free clinic hosted by the team on a mutually agreed-upon date.
