Presque Isle beats Bucks for 11th win

BUCKSPORT – Six different players scored a goal to lift the Presque Isle Wildcats to a 6-0 schoolgirl soccer victory over the Bucksport Golden Bucks Monday.

Hilary Harvey, Angela Norsworthy, Rachel Blackstone and Emily Robertson all netted goals in the first half. Stephanie Holton and Kylan Smith added goals in the second half. Helping with assists were Katie Moody, Erica Egeler, Nichole James and Meagan Pinette.

Melissa Demerchant made two saves on six shots for 11-1-1 Presque Isle. Combining for six saves on 10 shots were Katie Hurd and Alice Andrews for the 5-7-1 Bucks.

Limestone 5, Wisdom 0

At Limestone, Ellie Dunn shot in two goals, while Lindsey Beaulieu helped with her own goal and two assists.

Jacinda St. Pierre and Kate Wheeler also added goals. Nikki Michaud made eight saves on 15 shots for the 5-6-2 Eagles.

Kayla Daigle saved 16 of 24 shots for the Pioneers.

Shead 5, Washington Acad. 1

At East Machias, Samantha Davis and Skylar Richardson each scored two goals as the Tigers of Eastport improved to 7-4-1.

Lauretta Ricker added a goal and an assist for Shead, while Patricia Candelmo also had an assist.

Sarah Rushforth scored for Washington Academy on an assist from Joyce Grannias.

Brittany Cox had seven saves on eight shots for Shead. Meghan Look made 22 saves on 27 shots for 2-8 Washington Academy.

GSA 4, Central 0

At Blue Hill, Bethany Roberts scored two of George Stevens’ three first-half goals en route to the victory over Central of Corinth.

Rachael Wardwell scored GSA’s first goal 1:49 into the game when her corner kick sailed into the goal. Nina Boyz chipped in with a goal for the 7-2-2 winners and Winslow Brokaw, Jenny Olivari and Brandi Winters each notched an assist. Liz Tyler made two saves on five shots.

For 6-6-1 Central, Nicole Daniel made 18 saves on 24 shots.

Orono 1, Foxcroft Acad. 1 (2OT)

At Orono, the Red Riots and the Ponies battled to a 1-1 tie in double overtime.

Scoring in the first half was Leslie Nelson with an assist by Ashley Hall for 2-8-3 Foxcroft. Katie Walsh made 12 saves on 22 shots.

Lindsey Colbath tied the game in the second half with 21 minutes left. Marie Lint saved five of eigth shots for 6-4-2 Orono.

John Bapst 0, Hermon 0

At Bangor, both goalies notched a shutout to end the game in a 0-0 tie through two overtimes.

Ashley Pearson made four saves on five shots and Caroline Cassling made three saves on four shots for the 6-5-2 Crusaders.

For the 3-4-5 Hawks, Shannon Wiggin saved 21 of 26 shots.

Boys soccer

Foxcroft Acad. 3, Orono 1

At Dover-Foxcroft, Mitch Sawyer, Leonard Sheen and Nick Briggs each scored to give the Ponies the win in their Homecoming game.

Ryan Edgerly and Albert Kim both notched assists. Brad Bellemare made 14 saves on 16 shots for 2-12 Foxcroft.

Aloysha Klose booted in a goal off a penalty kick for the 4-7-1 Red Riots and Matt Lint saved 11 of 20 shots.

Hermon 2, John Bapst 1

At Hermon, Josiah Curtis scored off an assist from Jason Shorey and Wyatt Sabo added a goal.

Corey Archer saved seven of eight shots for the 8-2-2 Hawks.

Alex Means scored the only goal for the 7-6 Crusaders of Bangor. Rick Hathaway made 11 saves on 13 shots.

Field hockey

Hampden 2, John Bapst 0

At Hampden, Gretchen Lescord and Amy Ryder each scored a first-half goal to lift Hampden by the Crusaders of Bangor.

Anna Wood and Paige Clifton each notched an assist for the 8-5 winners and Hannah Thieme made six saves on six shots.

For 8-5 John Bapst, Julia Sleeper made 19 saves on 21 shots.

Leavitt 2, Belfast 1

At Turner, Jen Goodeek netted two goals in the second half to tie and then win the game for Leavitt.

Jamie Alexander helped with an assist and Kristen Schrepper saved 13 of 14 shots for 10-4 Leavitt.

Britt Reed scored off an assist by Kelsey Jackson in the first half for the 10-4 Lions and Amanda Littlefield made four saves on six shots.

JV: Belfast 2-0

Dexter 8, Stearns 0

At Dexter, Meagan Fogarty scored five goals to power undefeated Dexter to its 13th victory.

Brittany Veazie chipped in with two goals and six assists and Sarah Wyman added a goal. Keriann Patterson contributed two assists and Cindy Koscielny made one save on two shots.

For 7-6 Stearns, Deanna Michaud made 19 saves on 39 shots.

JV: Stearns 1-0
