BANGOR – Volunteers from the Bangor Noontime Rotary will join Oktoberfest from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, in Pickering Square.
Each year at Oktoberfest, the club raises money by selling bratwurst, hotdogs, sauerkraut, chili and pastries, with proceeds earmarked for local charities and international projects. Last year the club helped fund many charitable causes including college scholarships, Camp CaPella’s winterization project and the YMCA’s expansion of after-school programs.
Bangor Rotarians initiate community projects that address many of today’s critical issues. Rotarians volunteer their efforts to improve the quality of life in their own communities and beyond.
Rotary clubs meet weekly and are nonpolitical, nonreligious and open to all cultures, races and creeds.
Club membership represents a cross-section of local business and professional leaders. They have an extraordinary commitment to the betterment of Bangor and surrounding communities. Each year the club raises tens of thousands of dollars for charities. To learn more, call 945-6200 or e-mail andydurk@yahoo.com.
