The family of Josh Brinkley, the 30-year-old Bangor Lumberjacks hitting coach who died Thursday after being struck by a car Wednesday night in Wallace, N.C., has established a scholarship fund in his memory at Louisburg (N.C.) College.

Lumberjacks general manager Curt Jacey said Thursday, “It’s been a real tough day, obviously it’s a tough time. Josh is just a great guy.”

Make the check payable to Louisburg College with a notation on the check that it’s for the Joshua Ryan Brinkley Memorial Fund.
