ROXBURY – A pickup truck crash on state Route 17 claimed the life of a 28-year-old woman Sunday afternoon, state police said.

Kelly St. Cyr lost control of her 1996 Ford Ranger truck around 2 p.m. near a curve about two miles from the Mexico town line in western Maine. The truck crossed into the opposite lane, slid down a 10-foot embankment and crashed into trees.

State Trooper Terry James said St. Cyr was partially ejected from the truck. She was not wearing a seat belt.

St. Cyr was alone at the time of the accident. State Trooper Terry James said she had been visiting her father in Roxbury shortly before the accident.

No alcohol or drugs are suspected in the crash, James said. The accident remains under investigation.

St. Cyr leaves behind a 3-year-old daughter.
