BANGOR – The Bangor Garden Club is sponsoring three scholarship contests for area high school students. Students may participate in the High School Distinguished Service Project, an essay and speech contest. Scholarships in the amounts of $100, $500 and $1,000 will be presented to the winners in each category.

The club will also hold a poster contest for pupils in kindergarten through sixth grade, and a poetry contest for mentally or physically challenged pupils in kindergarten through graded nine. Winners of the contests will receive awards of recognition.
