BOSTON – Andrew Dorman’s goal with less than five minutes left in regulation helped the Boston University Terriers salvage a 3-3 men’s soccer tie with the University of Maine Black Bears Wednesday.
For the 6-7-1 Bears, Justin Stockford, Gabriel Germano and Luke Rivard each scored a goal. Daniel Florez, Kyle Vosmus, and Greg Bajek each assisted on goals. Chad Mungeon made six saves, four in the final overtime period.
For the 8-5-2 Terriers, Dorman, Sedrick Chin and Mark Richardson each had a goal and an assist. Dorman’s assist was his school record-tying 36th. Goalie Chad Comroe had four saves.
Field hockey
Bowdoin 6, UM-Farmington 0
At Brunswick, Marissa O’Neil had a goal and two assists, while Colleen McDonald and Christi Gannon scored two goals apiece, to help the Polar Bears earn their ninth win.
Ali Sozio added a goal for 9-2 Bowdoin and starter Gillian McDonald made two saves. Kate Leonard finished the game in goal and didn’t face a shot.
Ashleigh Biette stopped seven shots for 8-6 UMF.
USM 4, Framingham State 0
At Gorham, Huskies goalie Jessie Superchi saved both shots she faced to earn her third straight shutout and ninth of the season as Southern Maine downed the Rams.
Renee Heath knocked in two goals. Sarah Dolley and Jen Mason each added a goal, and Darci Holland and Deedra Bouchard each contributed an assist.
Lindsay McKearney made 13 saves on 18 shots for Framingham State.
Women’s soccer
Bates 2, UM-Farmington 0
At Farmington, Kim Alexander and Catherine Crosby each scored a goal as the Bobcats blanked the Beavers.
Lynne Antinarelli had one save for 8-1-2 Bates of Lewiston. Patty Boutin stopped 10 shots for 10-3-1 UM-Farmington.
