ROCKLAND – A Rockland District Middle School eighth-grader with leukemia and his family might be in a new home by the holidays if community members are successful in raising money for the home.

One of the fund-raisers planned by the Rockland Junior Kiwanis is a spaghetti supper Dec. 4 at the middle school cafeteria. The middle school parent group’s annual auction will follow the supper.

Sam Robinson is receiving treatments for leukemia and is the son of Steve and Georgia Robinson. The couple has four children: Sam, 13, Haley, 9, Steven, 6, and Hannah, 3.

Steve Robinson is a custodian at the middle school and his mother stays home taking care of Sam and her other children.

The middle school and various area organizations are trying to raise enough money to buy the family a 1-year-old doublewide mobile home to set up on family-owned land in Owls Head.

Any organizations or businesses interested in making donations or providing contracting services, or anyone wanting to donate auction items, can do so by calling Tom Mellor at 596-2020 or 691-2770.
