BANGOR – The Husson Braves scored twice in the second half to nip Bay Path 3-2 in women’s soccer action Friday afternoon.
Kristin Pelletier scored the game-winner on a penalty kick and Janie Michaud had an unassisted goal earlier in the half for 9-4-2 Husson. Betriz DeYcaza scored in the first half, assisted by Pelletier. Leah Drew had seven saves on nine shots.
Jennifer Fay and Cheryl Kuczynski knocked in goals for the 11-6 Wildcats of Longmeadow, Mass., both assisted by Michelle Frett. Samantha Duffy stopped 10 of 16 shots.
UNH 3, Maine 1
At Durham, N.H., Jackie Wishoski tallied two goals to lead the Wildcats past the Black Bears.
Chiara Best notched a goal plus an assist for 6-7-3 UNH. Liz MacKay made one save on four shots.
Erin Corey scored an unassisted goal for 10-2-1 Maine. Tanya Adorno stopped four of 13 shots.
Field hockey
UNH 3, Maine 2 (OT)
At Durham, N.H., Brittany Schneider scored the game-winning goal on a penalty stroke at 9:21 into overtime to lead the Wildcats to the win.
Sam Carr tied the game at 60:01 on an unassisted goal for 9-8 New Hampshire, and Katie White netted a goal on a Caitlin Gillen assist in the first half. Christine Buckley made eight saves on 13 shots.
Racheal Hilgar scored two goals for the 12-5 Black Bears and Karly Bundy had an assist. Jaye Lance stopped four of nine shots.
Volleyball
Binghamton 3, Maine 1
At Orono, Allison Beard had 10 kills and four service aces to lead Binghamton past Maine, 30-26, 28-30, 30-27, 30-22.
Michele Heck had five service aces and 10 digs for the 12-9 Bearcats, and Megan Hoag had 11 kills. Anne Crocus added 17 kills and Nicole Savin had 17 digs.
Leah Guidinger had 20 kills and nine digs to lead the 10-16 Black Bears. Brooke Truong had four service aces and 15 digs, and Brittany Howe added 11 kills.
