BOYS

Big School (Classes A-B)

LEVI MILLER

Miller, a cross country runner at Belfast Area High School, turned in the fastest time of the day regardless of class on his home course at the Troy Howard Middle School to win the Eastern Maine Class B individual championship. Miller toured the 5-kilometer (3.1-mile) course in 16 minutes, 11.1 seconds.

Small School (Classes C-D)

BOBBY GILBERT

Gilbert, a junior running back at Foxcroft Academy, rushed for 207 yards and three touchdowns on 20 carries to lead the undefeated Ponies to a 49-14 victory over Rockland. Through eight games this season, Gilbert has gained 831 yards on 118 rushes, an average of 7.0 yards per carry, and has scored 15 touchdowns.

GIRLS

Big School (Classes A-B)

SERENA DUBOIS

The junior forward for the Bangor High girls soccer team scored the game-winning goal off a pass from Laura Clarke, and assisted on Clarke’s goal, as the Rams downed previously undefeated Lewiston 2-0 in an Eastern Maine Class A semifinal. The win gives Bangor a berth in its first ever regional final.

Small School (Classes C-D)

JENN PLOURDE

Plourde, a sophomore goalie for the Penobscot Valley girls soccer team, gave up one goal in three Eastern Maine Class C playoff games to help the No. 8 Howlers advance to the regional final. Plourde has racked up 45 saves in the playoffs, including 15 in a 2-1 win over defending state champion Searsport.
