Aldus, a tailback for the Belfast Area High School football team, rushed for 186 yards and three TDs on 27 carries as the Lions defeated Hampden Academy 35-6. The performance enabled Aldus to surpass 1,000 rushing yards, the only PTC Class B runner to reach that plateau in 2003.

AUSTIN ROBERTS

Roberts, a senior midfielder for the Machias Memorial High School boys soccer team, had two goals as the Bulldogs defeated Calvary Chapel 2-0 in the Eastern D semifinals and scored the game-winner with 7:36 remaining as Machias defeated Washburn 2-1 in the regional championship match the next day.

SHELBY PICKERING

The Lee Academy junior excelled in two sports last week. In the Eastern Maine Class D soccer final against Greenville Friday, Pickering scored the game-tying goal with 30 seconds left in regulation and the game-winning goal with 50 seconds left in triple overtime. The next day she finished seventh overall in the Class D state cross country championships.
