BANGOR – The John Bapst Dinner Theater will present “Murder in the Court!” at 6:30 p.m. Friday-Saturday, Nov. 7-8 and Nov. 14-15, at John Bapst Memorial High School, 100 Broadway.

The Bangor courtroom of Old Hanging Judge Horton is the scene of the crime. The courtroom walls are hung with portraits of retired judges who look suspiciously like John Bapst faculty members Dr. Jones, Mrs. Campbell, Mr. Chapney, Mr. Sheren, Mr. McCarthy and new head of school Mr. Green.

Bapst AP and advanced art students Lauren Garside, Kate Townsend, Mark Nickerson, Gwen Carter, Michelle Sabine, Ada Athorp, Heather Briggs, Diana Bush, Kristin Gillis, Ivona Junkova, Karen Kusnierz, Brittany Martin, Yuriy Marykovsky and Jacob Tisher are guilty of making the portraits.

The challenge of the evening is to help the prosecutor, district attorney, bailiff and the rest of the courtroom solve the whodunit. They’ll need the help of the audience, who may get called for jury duty.

Characters are Judge Horton, played by Nat Hewett; Prosecutor, Kelsey Shaler; Defender, Charles Bergeron; Rupert, Ryan Lena; Bud the Bum, Nick Borelli; Daisy, Haylee Deans; Christopher, Marc Girard; Mrs. Carter, Anna Savage; Mr. Carter, Lucas Perry; Fifi, Katie Wetherbee; Officer Lumpkin, Greg Lamb; Plaintiff and Defendant, Tracy Haskell and Laura Porter. Art teacher Melissa Avery is the director.

The theater’s four-course dinner features pot roast and fixings. A vegetarian option is available if requested when tickets are purchased.

Tickets are available only at the Fine Arts Office at John Bapst High School on days when school is in session from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. No tickets will be available at the door. Tickets are $15 for adults, $13 for seniors and students. They may be purchased with cash or check only.

Proceeds will benefit the John Bapst Fine Arts Program.
