How great it is to have someone like Susan Cockrell write a column, “Once again, SAM shows its heavy hand in Maine” (BDN, Oct. 27), who has the knowledge, experience and perseverance to hang in there on hot issues like coyote snaring and hunting bears over jelly doughnuts.

Those of us who also oppose those cruel and unfair practices owe her a debt of gratitude for her courage and good humor.
