WEST GARDINER – A search was suspended Tuesday for a Maine forest ranger who was last seen Thursday.

Bruce Small, 52, of Litchfield, failed to show up for a meeting Friday morning and was reported missing Monday, a Maine Warden Service spokesman said. The search in the West Gardiner-Litchfield area started Monday.

Warden Service spokesman Mark Latti said several teams of divers searched Pleasant Pond on Tuesday, and a helicopter and plane searched from the air.

The search was suspended at the end of the day. Warden Service officials said a plane will resume an air search on Wednesday.
