BANGOR – Daniel McCleary, a senior at Bangor Christian Schools, and Anna Ouellette, a senior at Wisdom Middle High School, were named winners of the Wendy’s High School Heisman Award. They are two of 102 students who will move to the next round of national competition. The award honors male and female high school athletes who are leaders on their teams, as well as in their classrooms and communities.

The award was created in 1994 in a partnership between Wendy’s, the National Association of Secondary High School Principals and the Heisman Memorial Trust.

McCleary and Ouellette will receive silver medals and compete with 100 students from across the country for a spot in the national finalist competition. Schools of regional finalists each receive $1,000. Schools of national finalists each receive $2,500.
