Basic training

PARRIS ISLAND, S.C. – Marine Corps Reserve Pvt. Sean Hadley, a 1996 graduate of Old Town High School, has completed 12 weeks of basic training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot. Hadley ended the training phase with a ceremony in which the recruits were presented the Marine Corps emblem, and addressed as Marines for the first time in their careers.

FORT LEONARD WOOD, Mo. – U.S. Army Pvt. Eric Nickerson has completed basic training at Fort Leonard Wood. He has been posted to Fort Huachucha, Ariz., where he will receive advanced training in military intelligence services. A 2003 graduate of Hampden Academy, he is the son of William Nickerson of Hampden and Deanna Kenney of Limington.

SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Air National Guard Airman 1st Class Jeffery Davis has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base. He is the son of Kimberly and Jeffery Davis of Carmel and a 2002 graduate of Hermon High School.

Advanced training

TACOMA, Wash. – Richard Blackwell has graduated from the Army ROTC National Advanced Leadership Camp at Fort Lewis. He is the son of Jo Herson of Whitefield and Steven Blackwell of Hermon.

Deployment

DOVER, Del. – Air Force Staff Sgt. Bobbie Smith has deployed overseas to a forward operating location to support the mission of Operation Enduring Freedom.

Smith is a personnel craftsman normally assigned at Dover Air Force Base, Del. She is the daughter of Maria Thibodeau of Winterport and Robert Smith of Bangor.

Smith graduated in 1993 from Hampden Academy and received an associate degree in 2003 from Wilmington College, Dover, Del.
