EXETER – Just before 9 a.m. Wednesday, emergency calls summoned fire department personnel from Corinna, Corinth, Dexter and Newport to a house fire on the Chamberlain Meeting House Road.

“We believe it was a structure fire that started from either the stove or a chimney fire,” Corinna Fire Department Chief Alan Clark said.

The house is reported to be a total loss.

The homeowner, Tim Richard, and his brother-in-law were outside the home when they noticed the fire and called for assistance at 8:55 a.m.

“It was under control within an hour, but there were hot spots,” said Clark. “We returned to the station at about 11:30 a.m.”

Clark was unsure of the age of the house.
