Laura Williamson

Williamson, a freshman forward for the Colby women’s soccer team, has been named the New England Small College Athletic Conference Rookie of the Year. She was also named to NESCAC’s second team. Williamson finished the season as the league’s top scorer with 14 goals and seven assists and set Colby season records for points and goals in a season.

Libba Cox

Cox, a freshman midfielder for the Colby women’s soccer team, has been to the New England Small College Athletic Conference’s second team. She was second on the team in scoring with seven goals and one assist.

Luciano Aquino

Aguino, a freshman forward for the University on Maine men’s ice hockey team, has been named Hockey East Superskills Hockey Rookie of the Week. He scored two goals in Maine’s 5-2 win over Northeasten and recorded two assists in the team” 4-0 shutout win over UMass-Lowell. On the season, Aquino has three goals and three assists in eight games played.

Matt Young

Senior back Young, of the University of Maine men’s soccer team was named to the America East All-Tournament team at the end of the America East Tournament on Saturday. As co-captain he lead a much-improved UMaine defense and was one of three players to start all 19 games this season. Young was also named to the America East Academic Honor Roll and was an UMaine Scholar-Athlete Award Award winner.
