MONSON – A ceiling heater that short-circuited and caught fire Wednesday did minimal damage to Moosehead Manufacturing Co.’s Monson plant.
Monson Fire Chief Terry Gaudet said the fire, which occurred in a room used to stain furniture, erupted shortly after noon.
Gaudet said he was thankful for the plant’s sprinkler system, which quickly activated.
“It would have been a disaster without it,” he said. He also praised Monson and Guilford firefighters for their quick response and action. “They got it vented out real quick,” he said.
