The five stores operated by The Black Stove Shop, Maine’s largest retailer of stove and fireplace products, have been acquired by a New York-based investment firm, S3 Partners LLC.

Founded in 1975 by Ray and Candace Manocchio, the Black Stove Shop showrooms in Augusta, Bangor, Waterville, Lewiston and Yarmouth feature gas and wood-burning stoves, fireplace inserts, lawn and patio furnishings, outdoor grilles, and garden accessories.

Frank Tarantino of Freeport, the company’s new president, said the new owners intend to expand product offerings and open more stores over the next few years in an effort to double current annual revenue of about $5 million.

The Pamola Motor Lodge in Millinocket was recently purchased by B&C Management Inc., which is owned and operated by Brent Cole and Dustin Bulley. The motel at 973 Central St. is located directly off the ITS 86 snowmobile trail in Millinocket. The facility includes hot tubs, a pool, a business center with high-speed Internet access, Hang Wong Chinese Restaurant, and JP’s Pub. For reservations or more information, call (800) 575-9746.

The two Milliken Real Estate offices of broker and owner Richard L. Fickett have become RE/MAX real estate offices under the new name of RE/MAX A-1 Associates. Downeast Mortgage Corp. has relocated to new facilities at 40 Summer St. in Bangor, more than tripling the company’s office space. Five loan officers – senior loan officer Paul Cary, Jordan Franklin, John Hess, Allen Campbell and Sandi Currie – work out of the Bangor office. The staff also includes loan processors Gerri Proulx and Michael Randall and office manager Nala Campbell. Downeast is the state’s largest full-service independent mortgage company, offering a range of government and private home financing options. Black Bear Medical North has relocated to 1113 Stillwater Ave. in Bangor. A grand opening was scheduled for Friday and today. The company rents and sells medical equipment from pediatric supplies to geriatric needs. The company also provides varied other services, such as adapting vehicles for people with special needs.
