AUGUSTA – State investigators have found no indication of wrongdoing by Cumberland County sheriff’s deputies in the death of a 23-year-old woman after her arrest this week in Baldwin.

Elaine McGeehan was unresponsive and had stopped breathing when she arrived Sunday night at the Cumberland County Jail. She died a short time later at Maine Medical Center.

The cause and manner of death remained under investigation by the state Medical Examiner’s Office pending further study.
