BANGOR – St. Joseph Healthcare and the Felician Sisters celebrated Founder’s Day on Friday by presenting the annual Mother Mary Angela awards to three people.

The owner of St. Joseph Hospital says the three continue the mission of Mary Angela, founder of the Felician Sisters in 1855. The women were nominated by their peers and selected by St. Joseph’s mission advisory committee.

This year’s award recipients are Lainie Hill, licensed practical nurse of the hospital’s medical unit; Bethany McKnight of the hospital’s public affairs and development department; and volunteer Milly Ranney.

Hill joined St. Joseph Healthcare in 1991 and has worked in various patient areas.

McKnight has worked in all capacities of public affairs and development, and is responsible for all internal and external communications and fund-raising.

Ranney has been a front desk volunteer for the past 24 years.
